My work is about the relation between beauty and death, the interpretation of life in an emotional, spiritual way. I like to revisit iconic subject matter by bringing images back to culture and putting a twist on them, as if the viewer is experiencing the image and sentiment for the first time. —Nir Hod, 2020
I was home, alone. Sort of. I could’t get any work done because I was fixated on the box resting on the dining room table. Inside was a clear plastic bag, some paperwork, and metal identification tag. The box summoned me, much as my father had my whole life.
